The circle above the U symbolizes the achievements in its rapid growth implying that the University, like a rising sun, is full of promise after the reform.
The pattern of the logo suggests a blooming magnolia, the City Flower of Hefei, which means HU is affiliated to Hefei city. In addition, the pattern of the open book signifies the quest for knowledge and truth.
